Stephen Sliwa

Stephen is the Executive Program Director of Teacher Education and an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Education, at Queen’s University (Kingston). He is a long-serving educator and former senior executive in the K to 12 Education sector in Ontario.  

Prior to his appointment as Executive Program Director of Teacher Education, Stephen was the Director of Education and Chief Executive Officer for the Upper Canada District School Board in Eastern Ontario. He is a former Superintendent of Instruction, school principal, special education teacher, guidance counsellor, and teacher of Social Sciences, and Indigenous Studies. 

Stephen possesses a broad range of professional, academic, and teaching interests, which he brings not only to his current work at Queen’s University but as well, to the Executive Committee of several not-for-profit Boards. He holds graduate degrees in curriculum design, Indigenous studies, public administration, and change management from Trent University, the University of Toronto, and Queen’s University.
