National Family Week
Since 1985, during the first week of October, Canadians in communities across the country come together for local festivities celebrating National Family Week. The week provides an opportunity to celebrate families and reflect on their importance in our lives. Since 2007, Families Canada has coordinated the program with other National Family Week partners offering resources relating to the annual theme, as well as ideas for exciting activities that families can do together.
This year, National Family Week is October 3-9, 2022 and the theme is “Play At All Ages: A Prescription for Wellbeing”. Play supports not only children’s healthy development, but mental health and wellbeing for people of all ages. Play can take many forms and has so many benefits—including being a buffer against the long-term negative health impacts of stress. This National Family Week, how will you play?
We invite you to share how you are staying connected to your family, friends, and community during Canada’s National Family Week on social media with the hashtag #CNFW2022. We’ve created this toolkit with social media graphics and suggested social media posts to support your efforts in participating this week!
