Sherry McLean

Sherry McLean is a Senior Business Consultant at CIBC. She has worked with multiple lines of business within the organization including Capital Markets, Wealth Management and Technology & Innovation. Her expertise in business analysis, project management and risk management have helped her earned strong sponsorship from key stakeholders. Since 2019, she has been working in HR with a focus on senior executive leadership development. 

Sherry started her career as an intern with Ernst & Young and her work experience has spanned both China and Canada including roles in HR, SAP consulting and management consulting. She has led complex initiatives from design to implementation across multiple channels and lines of business/stakeholders including developing Human Capital strategies to support mergers and acquisitions. As a SAP consultant, she led large enterprise projects with a focus on business process improvements and data optimization. 

Sherry has strong expertise in financial analysis and institutional investment management. Her broad knowledge includes corporate finance, financial modeling, business valuation, portfolio management, equity, fixed income, and derivatives. She used this financial background to support other not for profit organizations with the mandate of improving operational resilience and increasing investment portfolio returns.  

Sherry and her husband are expecting their first baby this year. This new life event has changed her perspective tremendously. She is passionate about Social Purpose, Sustainability & Climate Risk, and will act as an advocate to raise the corporation’s awareness to give back and support communities. 

Sherry holds a B.A. in Human Resource Management from the Central University of Finance and Economics in China as well as an MBA in Investment Management from Concordia University. She is pursuing the LLM in Business Law with Osgoode Hall Law School.
