Since 1985, during the first week of October, Canadians in communities across the country come together for local festivities celebrating National Family Week. The week provides an opportunity to celebrate families and reflect on their importance in our lives. Since 2007, Families Canada has coordinated the program with other National Family Week partners offering resources relating to the annual theme, as well as ideas for exciting activities that families can do together.
This year, National Family Week is October 4-10, 2021 and the theme is “Connected Families, Connected Communities”. There has been a lot of uncertainty during the pandemic, but one thing is clear— staying connected to our families and communities is crucial. Whether in person or online, staying connected means healthier families and more vibrant communities.
We invite you to share how you are staying connected to your family, friends, and community during National Family Week on social media with the hashtag #CNFW2021.
